Liberty Advanced Composites' engineers have been instrumental in delivering major milestone automotive projects.

  • 1991 designed and configured the worlds first advanced composite sports car, the McLaren F1. Sett up a full production plant producing 2 full car sets of components every month.
     
  • The UK's first National Vocational Qualification in composite laminating.
     
  • Developed a completely new range of cure tolerant pre-pregs for materials partner Advanced Composites Group.
     
  • 1995 Developed lightweight racing variants of F1 - winning Lemans outright in 1995, with class wins in 1996 and 1997.
     
  • 97 GTR lightest GT car in class - 917 Kgs nearest competitor Mercedes CLK GTR 1050 Kgs.
     
  • 2000 - 2005 Ben Scott-Geddes led the McLaren Cars advanced concepts team for Professor Gordon Murray producing the technology road map for McLaren automotive current product platforms, configuring entire materials choices for the complete vehicle solution.
     
  • 2006 Caparo Vehicle Technologies founded in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Caparo T1 launched.
     
  • 2006 - Caparo Vehicle Technologies carried out numerous development projects for major OEM customers including: Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Gordon Murray Design, JCB, Aston Martin, Renault Sport, Lotus, Bentley Motors
     
  • 2010 company moved to Leamington Spa.
     
  • 2010 onwards Caparo Advanced Composites introduced off shore sourcing from low cost economies such as India based on Caparo's extensive presence. Building complex advanced composites structures and shipping to their UK assembly facility.
     
  • 2011 Caparo Adcanced Composites make significant inroads with customer base in Northern Italy. Modena Office opened and became also a shared base of operations with Caparo Testing Technologies.
     
  • 2015 - company purchased by the Liberty House Group and renamed to Liberty Advanced Composites
